The Nigerian Journal of Management Sciences is housed in the Faculty of Management Sciences, Benue State University, Makurdi, Benue state-Nigeria. The idea to establish the journal was conceived by members of the Faculty of Management Sciences on the 25th of February, 2004 in a faculty board meeting presided over by the then Dean, Mr. John Sar. The maiden edition was published in January, 2005 under the chairmanship of Prof. B. Akpa, as the Editor-in-Chief and Mr. S.T. Kpelai, as the editorial secretary. This board successfully published two editions of the journal, one in 2005 and the other in 2013 respectively. The desire to make the journal a regular and a scholarly platform for academic debate and for the promotion of knowledge both locally and internationally led to the reconstitution of the board of NJMS in 2013 by members of the Faculty of Management Sciences in its 65th regular meeting held on the 15th of February, 2013 under the Deanship of Dr. S.E. Nongo.  A 10 man editorial board was reconstituted under the editorship of Dr. J.I. Agburu and Dr. A.I. Ochugudu as the secretary.
