Israeli Ambassador Visits Benue State University

The Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University, Professor Tor Joe Iorapuu, today welcomed His Excellency Michael Freeman, the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, during a significant working visit to the institution.

The Ambassador was accompanied by His Excellency Revd. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State and Visitor to the University.

In his remarks, Ambassador Freeman expressed appreciation for the warm reception and commended the University's commitment to academic excellence and research. He emphasized the importance of fostering stronger educational and technological collaborations between Israel and Benue State University, particularly in areas of agriculture, innovation and digital technology.

Governor Alia, highlighted the significance of the visit in strengthening diplomatic and academic ties, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to advancing education and development in the State.

Responding, Professor Iorapuu expressed gratitude for the visit and assured the Ambassador of the University’s readiness to explore potential partnerships that would enhance teaching, learning, research and infrastructural development.

The Ambassador and entourage visited Unipod Innovation hub and the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology and also had a brief interactive session with some key faculty staff of the University thereby reinforcing the commitment to fostering international collaborations for the growth of the institution.

The event saw a warm reception from the University Management, alongside Deans, Directors and staff who turned out in large numbers to welcome the distinguished dignitaries.
