Editorial Procedures and Peer Review
JESR employs a rigorous double-anonymous peer review process. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and must not have collaborated with any of the manuscript's authors within the past three years or be from the same institution. JESR’s editorial process involves an Editor-in-Chief and two Co-Editors, with initial manuscript screening conducted to detect plagiarism using specialized software.
Each manuscript is assigned to a Co-Editor whose expertise aligns with the article's content, balancing workload and ensuring compliance with conflict-of-interest guidelines. If revisions are necessary, the responsible Co-Editor may consult a second Co-Editor for additional input before reaching a final decision. Accepted articles are permanently archived in the
Institutional Repository at Benue State University, Makurdi.
Complaints and Appeals
JESR is committed to maintaining the integrity of its publications. Any complaints or appeals are handled by the Editors, who are required to investigate issues raised. Allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and, if substantiated, may result in corrections, revisions, or retractions. The identity of whistleblowers is kept confidential to protect those who report ethical concerns.
